Luke + Heidi = Married | Weston Park

Back in June I was lucky enough to be asked to cover the wedding of Luke and Heidi at Weston Park Golf Club. I really like this venue, and it has some great photo opportunities.

The day started off with a few shots of the groom and grooms men whilst we waited the arrival of the bride.
The ladies all arrives in style in their vintage cars.

After the ceremony it was non stop partying! Including a pianist who got everyone having a sing, and then later in the evening the disco started and the dance floor was constantly full.

Great wedding and I feel very privileged to have been a part of it.

Wishing both of them many happy years together.

Also just want to say a big thank you to Richard Evans of Sox Photography for Helping me out on the day.

Here are some of my favourite images from the day.

Bentley GT Continental GTV8

A few weeks ago now I was invited to spend the day with Automotive Journalist Carlton Boyce at Milbrook Proving ground in Bedford. What a fantastic day it was too!
I will be posting more work from the day but the images that have had the most attention are the series I done on the new Bentley GT Continental GTV8. What a machine! There is just something about the car, I was expecting it to feel a bit like an old mans car, something that I might one day own and only use when I couldn't be bothered to use my free OAP buspass. But its not like that at all.

The interior is beautiful,  and something that I wasn't expecting, quite sporty! Although they have kept the prestige feel to it by including some lovely little push and pull air vent knobs, and the little dash clock. I could certainly feel at home behind the wheel!

The trouble with the car is, if I did own one, I don't think it would be very long before I crashed it. This isn't down to the 4 litre, twin turbo, 500bhp engine, but because I would spend every second I was driving it looking in the wing mirror at its beautifully crafted rear quarter panel!

Anyway, here are a few more of my favourite pictures from the shoot.

Stunning family shoot at the wonderful Dunston Hall Hotel

A few weeks ago I met up with this gorgeous people at Dunston Hall Hotel for a Family / Pre wedding shoot.
Its only a few weeks now until I will be seeing them again when they tie the knot at Dunston in early August.
The purpose of this shoot was to get a series of images so that they could then choose one for their signature board.

Really looking forward to catching up with them again in a couple of weeks!
Here's some of my favourites from the shoot.

Of course your pictures are better than mine, you have a better camera.....

I get told this all the time, from people at weddings, and people who attend my photography workshops. But does it make that much difference? Im not talking about quality, we all know that a £1k camera and lens combo is going to be able to produce much sharper, higher quality picture than a £60 compact from Tesco, but what im talking about is the actual picture itself. There is much more to photography than just pointing and pressing the button. What makes a good image is all about composition, thinking about what we want to include in the picture, the angle at which we shoot at, the lighting conditions etc etc.

Last week I was working in New York. I was over there to shoot a wedding which I will share with you in a few weeks time, but while I was there I decided rather than carry my camera around with me for the whole week I would put my trusty iPhone 4s to the test and document my trip using only that. (obviously I used my DSLR for the wedding, im not that silly). All I have used in these images is my iPhone and a £2.99 app called Snapseed.

Let me know what you think.
